Barbara Mahler is a long-standing active member of the NY dance community as a choreographer, performer and teacher. Her choreography draws upon the intricate textures of time and space and the (her) body to create dances, which subtly reveal characters, emotions and stories.

Her choreography is consistent with her teaching vision and work, which is greatly informed by the teachings of Susan Klein and Fritz Smith, exploring the endless possibilities that the body holds. It is spare and articulate.
